Oxford Art Prize

In 2015, Oxford Castle Quarter and O3 Gallery will be launching the new and exciting Oxford Art Prize; an open art competition to celebrate Oxford cityโ€™s unique culture, natural beauty and heritage. On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2015 artists will bring their own sketchbooks, paper, boards and canvases to a previously allocated location within Oxford and then work โ€˜en plein airโ€™ creating a flurry of visible artistic activity across the city. Entries will be exhibited at the O3 Gallery within Oxford Castle Quarter, The Town Hall Gallery and other cultural and accessible venues in the city. We think everyone should have the opportunity to celebrate the beauty of Oxford and take pride in the city in which we live, work, and visit. Entries from artists of all ages and locations will be welcomed, and work created in all 2D mark making media will be accepted. Participating artists may complete their art work at home or in studios before submission at the end of August 2015. Finished pieces must be returned for a judged exhibition and sale of work in August and September 2015. The competition will open for registration in February 2015 and registration will close in mid-May 2015. The Oxford Art Prize is presented by O3 Gallery and Oxford Castle Quarter in association with Visit Oxfordshire, Oxford Preservation Trust, Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire Artweeks, and Oxford County Council.
