There are lots of opportunities for artists at the O3 Gallery, see below for details:
Exhibit in an O3 Gallery curated exhibition
These exhibitions are curated by the O3 Gallery team in line with proposals that are submitted. To put forward a proposal, please email the following information to [email protected] :
• A covering letter, outlining how you wish to use the space, when you would prefer to exhibit and a guide to the prices you normally charge for your work.
• Up to 20 images of your work in low-res jpeg format. (Please label all your images with title, size, medium and date.)
• An up to date Curriculum Vitae.
• An Artist Statement.
• Links to any web pages with more work/information.
Please note, there is no deadline for proposals, however we tend to programme at least a year in advance, so the earlier you can contact us, the better!
Selected exhibitions run for approximately 3-4 weeks and are curated, installed, marketed and promoted by the O3 Gallery. The cost of this is heavily subsidised by the gallery, however as we function on a not-for-profit basis, for the benefit of the local community, we do require artists to pay an exhibitions fee of £375* in order to contribute to the costs.
*Exhibitions fees are £375 for selling exhibitions, alongside a gallery commission rate of 40%. The exhibition fee for non-selling exhibitions is £1,500 for a 3-4 week period.
For each selected exhibition the O3 Gallery purchases a piece of artwork to form part of the Oxford Castle Art Collection. Click here for further details.
Please note: Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are only able to write to applicants whose proposals are selected. There is no deadline for applications. The O3 Gallery does not invite artists to present their work at the gallery informally and therefore please do not ‘cold call’. You are welcome to drop your application in by hand if you wish to do so.
O3 Open: Hire the gallery space for your own exhibition
O3 Gallery is now available for 1 week private exhibition hire during our ‘O3 Open’ periods. Forthcoming un-booked O3 Open weeks include:
Monday 25th August – Monday 1st September 2014
The cost of hiring the gallery space for 1 week (opening hours 12-5pm) is £375. The space available for hire includes the gallery walls (not including the walls in the retail space at the upper level of the gallery) and the lower gallery floor. The O3 Gallery will provide invigilation and no commission will be taken. All sales must be processed directly through the artist. The O3 Gallery will not curate or market ‘O3 Open’ exhibitions; it is to be understood on application that all promotion is the responsibility of the artist. To make a booking please email [email protected] with some images of the work you would like to display and the corresponding prices. Please clearly outline which week you would like to book.
Sell in the O3 Gallery Shop
O3 Gallery welcomes applications from designer/makers. Through our shop we are keen to support local independent designers and stock handmade and British-made product. Whether you are a jeweller, textile designer, illustrator, ceramicist…we would like to hear from you!
For an opportunity to sell your wares in our shop, please email [email protected] and tell us a bit about yourself and your trade. Please include a selection of low-res images, RRP’s and any links to web pages where we can view more of your work.
